A 17-year-old youth believed to be from the local area was also arrested shortly after the crash.  He was subsequently released without charge.

The investigating team looking into the crash would  like to hear from anyone who was on the A371 shortly before or at the time of the collision, who may have information to help their enquiries.

They would also like to hear from anyone who may have seen a red BMW on the A38 between Brent Island and Cross before the collision happened.

Anyone able to help is asked to contact the police collision investigation unit on the force number 101 or on-line at http://www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/contact/crime_reporting/
