Arrests over drugs
TWO unemployed men in the Burnham area have been arrested suspected of possessing class A drugs.
Neil Edward Cartwright, 42, was charged with two offences of possessing heroin and bailed to appear at Sedgemoor Magistrates' Court on March 30.
Cartwright was searched for drugs in Highbridge on January 17, and following a search on a Burnham address, drugs with an estimated street value of £300 were believed to have been recovered.
This follows a police operation targeting drug dealers in Highbridge as part of the Partners and Communities Together process, where the community identifies crime priorities for their area.
In a separate case, a 36-year-old unemployed man from Highbridge is on bail after heroin with an estimated street value of £600 and £630 cash were suspected to have been recovered in Abingdon Street, Burnham.
He was released to return on April 20 for the drugs to be analysed.
