Alzheimer's Society's roadshow aims to raise awareness
THE Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Roadshow got the backing of Wells MP Tessa Munt when it arrived in the Market Place.
Ms Munt joined staff and volunteers at the show which aims to increase local awareness and understanding of the condition.
She said: “Community events such as this are a great way of giving people information about Alzheimers and raising awareness of the condition.
“I recently pledged in Parliament that I would do my bit to promote awareness in my part of Somerset, so I was thrilled to be part of this roadshow and I look forward to being involved in other events in the future.”

The Alzheimer’s Society’s Roadshow offers free information and advice to anyone with queries about the condition, as well as helping to promote the benefits of an early diagnosis.
After stopping in Wells the roadshow then travelled to Exeter on before heading on to Marlborough and Thornbury next month.
Jill Lock, from Alzheimer’s Society in Somerset, said: “We would like to thank all the staff and volunteers who have helped us to make a difference to so many people in the local area, and to Tessa Munt MP for her support.
“The roadshow is an exciting way to reach out to people across the South West, tackling stigma and raising awareness of the condition.
“We hope that as many people as possible will take advantage of this vital free information service, as getting help at the earlier stages of dementia gives people access to the support and treatments that can enable them to live well and plan for the future.”
