'Acting on fears for baby'
POLICE have hit back at accusations they breached a woman's human rights when they swooped in to protect a three-hour-old baby.
Inspector Mark Nicholson from Wells Police Station said they were acting at the request of social services, but officers found themselves fending off angry members of the public who tried to intervene.
"Members of the public intervened and became obstructive to the on-going work of both police officers and staff from social services," he said.
