Cheddar Tennis Club staged its traditional post-Christmas event for players keen for some exercise after the festive excesses, pictured.

Four courts were in play all afternoon as competitors made the most of the mild weather, although no outright winner was declared on this occasion.

Instead, everyone enjoyed mulled wine and mince pies afterwards to round off an enjoyable event.

Serious competition for club players begins this week with the resumption of winter league matches.

Group coaching also restarts, with sessions for adults on Wednesday evenings and Friday mornings. Children can receive tips after school on Fridays and on Saturday mornings.
