Ace Jake hits late treble to make point
Minehead 3 Mid Somerset Men 1st 3
Jake Connock completed a 15-minute hat-trick with the last touch of the game as Mid Somerset battled back brilliantly to take an excellent point from Saturday's tough trip to Davis Wood League Central 1 leaders Minehead.
The visitors went into the match with confidence high after the previous week's convincing victory over Team Bath Buccaneers C and made the better start, with both Connock and returning skipper Roger Knife forcing early saves.
However, Minehead soon got a stranglehold on the game and the defiant Mids defence eventually cracked just before half-time.

After a harshly-worded team-talk from coach Andy Rogers, Mids again made a good start to the second half but found themselves in trouble when Rob Newman was sin-binned for a high stick.
With only ten men, the visitors found it tough and conceded twice from slick moves to find themselves staring at a heavy defeat.
However, once restored to full strength, they managed to pull a goal back when Connock scored from a tight angle following a great through ball by Matt Palmer.
He struck again minutes later from a short corner that only just rolled over the line and suddenly it was Mids who were finishing the game the stronger.
In the dying seconds, Connock found himself through on goal but was pushed to the floor before picking himself up to confidently complete his hat-trick – and the comeback – from the penalty spot.
Mids face bottom-of-the- table EVC Hornets at Wells Blue School on Saturday (1pm).
Mid Somerset Men A 5 ISCA D 2
Mid Somerset A produced a five-star performance to see off their nearest rivals and move four points clear at the top of the Davis Wood League South East 2 table.
They did it the hard way, though, as ISCA struck twice in the first 15 minutes against a Mids side seemingly complacent after five successive victories.
They finally sparked into life and skipper Cameron Dunn drilled their first short corner of the game between the keeper's legs to halve the deficit going into the interval.
He then produced a memorable team-talk, after which Mids emerged with more focus and went on the offensive.
A scorching pass from Chris Young found Ollie Smart, who buried his shot from the top of the D to bring the teams level, and he saw another effort deflect off an ISCA defender to put Mids ahead for the first time.
With victory now in their grasp, the hosts piled on the pressure and killed the game off when Rob Blake's shot fell to Smart, whose reverse-sweep finish took his goal average to two per game.
Mids had time for one more assault and a short-corner strike from Young found Alex Mitchell, who lifted the ball into the net in flamboyant style.
Man of the match Graham Miller was tireless in defence for the victors.
