The A361 has reopened between East Lyng and Burrowbridge this afternoon following an inspection by Somerset County Council officials.

The road has been closed for the past ten days due to flooding on the Somerset Levels.

Heavy rain and melting snow, combined with existing problems from the November floods, left parts of the A361 under water and impassable.

Despite the warnings, several drivers ignored the road closure signs and had to be rescued after becoming stranded in the flood water.
