Mystery surrounds the location of next year’s revamped Sunrise Celebration Festival, with organisers saying they want to keep revellers guessing.

But what they have confirmed is that it will be held at a woodland location between Frome and Bath, and the new offices of the festival will be in the town.

KEEPING EVERYONE GUESSING: Mystery surrounds the venue for next year's Sunrise Festival, which has moved its new operation to Frome

The newly revamped festival, which is now called Sunrise: Another World, will have its very own micronation, a new main stage set up, with Saturday night being headlined by Dub Pistols and a Sunrise pub, with a capacity of 800.

The festival used to be held on the outskirts of Bruton and has a new management structure.

Alex Lepingwell, new partner and co-director of the festival, said: “This is an exciting time for the revamped Sunrise: Another World festival and also for the new Sunrise Micronation.

“There is already a lot of buzz around what’s in store and where it will be next year, and we want to keep that sense of mystery and anticipation bubbling all the way through till the end of the festival.

“Life is much more interesting with a bit of mystery cloaked around it.”

Mr Lepingwell said the new Micronation will be an independent state, with its own bill of rights and passport system.

He said: “A Micronation, or model country, is an independent state, as yet unrecognised by world governments or major international organisations. Sunrise – the first ever festival Micronation – will represent the world we want to dream into being for a new era.

“Like all nations, the Sunrise Micronation has the right to issue passports, currency, honours and operate an embassy.”

Other highlights will include a nightclub, a secret cinema, a bigger and better kids area and serenity field, a health and well being area.
