2012 Weston Beach Race organiser says 'fantastic' race was among best in 30-year history
Event director Gareth Hockey has hailed the 2012 Weston Beach Race as one of the most successful in its 30-year history.
More than 50,000 bike fans visited Weston-super-Mare's seafront over the weekend to see a full two-day programme of racing, culminating in yesterday afternoon's three-hour main event.
New MX2 world champion Jeffrey Herlings won the race on his Weston debut, beating an all-star field including Grand Prix stars Ken de Dycker, Shaun Simpson and Brad Anderson.
Mr Hockey, director of race organisers RHL Activities, said: "It’s been a fantastic weekend for us.
Get toned ready for summer with an easy to follow program tailored to your current fitness levels using body weight exercises. Perfect for training at home, at work or in the park with no equipment!

"I’d say it’s possibly one of the best events we have organised, and while I always want more to find perfection, I can be satisfied with how everything went.
"The feedback we’ve had has been excellent, the racing was good, and we’ve put the event back on track after a difficult few years.
"Thanks to everyone involved; the sponsors, the staff who work so hard for months on end in the planning, those who worked throughout the weekend, the spectators, competitors and our guest riders.
"We are now really looking forward to next year.”
