A horse lorry was seized on behalf of Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs as it was believed to be running on red diesel.
PCSO Matt Tailby said: "We have since identified the tipper trailer as having been stolen from Somerset earlier in the month and one of the Ifor Williams trailers was stolen from Dorset in February 2011.
"Some of the items have already been returned to their rightful owners which is a great result. We would always advise people to ensure they keep detailed records of any vehicles and equipment they own as it makes it much easier to identify if they are stolen.”
A man has been arrested in relation to this investigation and is currently on police bail pending further enquiries.
