Hundreds arrested as police carry out day of raids for Operation Relentless
More than 250 people have been arrested today as Avon and Somerset Police launched one of its biggest ever crackdowns against criminals.
Part of the force's Operation Relentless drive, officers carried out raids on potential suspects across the Somerset area.

Police arrested more than 250 people after a series of raids today
The operation involved around 1,000 police officers, special constables, police community support officers and police staff.
In Yeovil, police seized 500kg of suspected stolen lead and also arrested one man on suspicion of theft from a vehicle.

A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of going equipped in Taunton, and one arrest was made in Street on suspicion of non-payment of fines.
There were also raids on suspected cannabis factories in Weston-super-Mare and Bridgwater.
Police dog Troy helped dog handler PC Jim Hampson make two Operation Relentless arrests in North Somerset this morning.
A member of the public became suspicious and called police when he spotted two men trying to remove an alarm box from a property in Macrae Road, Pill.
PC Hampson and Troy, who were due to finish their shift, attended and challenged the suspects, who tried to flee.
Troy gave chase and one of the men was detained while the other man was then located and arrested.
Both suspects were arrested for attempted burglary.
Police also uncovered a cannabis factory in Bath and seized cannabis plants and cash from a property in Felton, near Bristol Airport.
Assistant Chief Constable Anthony Bangham said: "Relentless has been running for seven years and has two main aims – reinforcing what we do on daily basis in targeting criminals head-on and providing further public reassurance through visible high impact policing.
"The fact that (so many) people have already been arrested this morning sends out a strong message that we continue to be relentless in our pursuit of those who commit crime."
In the past two months, police have made more than 1,211 arrests in a campaign to crack down on motor crime, burglary and robbery.
During the seven years of Operation Relentless, there have been more than 3,000 arrests.
